Sandy has supported HIMELE and its activities beginning with the 2015 Maui Steel Guitar Festival.

She has been responsible for the festival stores for festivals in Waikīkī and on Maui, Kaua‘i, and Hawai‘i Island

She has accompanied husband Greg Sardinha to almost every HIMELE steel guitar festival he has participated in throughout the state, and has provided her expertise in supervising, coordinating and running the festival store, beginning with the 2015 Maui Steel Guitar Festival. In this capacity, she oversaw CD, t-shirt, and other festival merchandise purchases. She has also participated in neighbor island school visitations.

Sandy was born in Honolulu. She is married to steel guitarist and musician Greg Sardinha. They have a daughter and three grandchildren.

Now retired, Sandy was the former operations manager for Termimesh Hawaii, Inc., a firm specializing in termite prevention and control. There, she managed human resources processes and office administrative matters such as securing various insurances for the office including insurance audits (professional insurance as well as business insurances). She was in charge of financial matters including financial projection reports, tracking cases and overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivables. She also handled purchasing and procurement needs for the company.

Sandy is an avid photographer and has helped document HIMELE festival school visits and various other HIMELE activities.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, Sandy and Greg opened their home as a performance venue for Hawaiian Steel Guitar Showcase livestream performances. Their backyard, situated with a backdrop of the Ko‘olau mountains, provided a perfect setting for the livestreams. Always the congenial hostess, she prepared snacks, meals and refreshments for the artists at every Showcase livestream at her home.
