Dr. David Woodward Elected to HIMELE Board of Directors

07/16/2026 - Dr. David Woodward has been elected to HIMELE's Board of Directors. David fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Larry Holu.

Larry Holu Retires from HIMELE Board of Directors

07/15/2026 - Larry Holu has retired from HIMELE Board of Directors, effective July 13, 2026. Larry has served as a HIMELE director since August, 2017. In his resignation, Larry says, "Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this great organization to promote and perpetuate the Hawaiian steel guitar. I'll always have fond memories of the many wonderful steel guitar festivals that we produced and promoted together."

Kaipo Lindsey Elected to HIMELE Board of Directors

07/14/2026 - Kaipo Lindsey has been elected to HIMELE's board of directors. Kaipo fills the remaining vacant position on the HIMELE board.

Dr. Beth Post Elected to HIMELE Board of Directors

04/13/2026 - Dr. Beth "Bam" Post has been elected to HIMELE's board of directors. Bam fills one of two vacant positions on the HIMELE board which was increased from five to seven directors in a January, 2023, board action.
